In nature everything is related. The sixty-three year old cedar tree in the above banner image drops pollen twice a year causing breathing problems for the home owner. Dan Folk, owner of Apex Tree Experts explains what should be done. The fruit tree to the left has serious damage and will probably fall in the next year or two. It must go. Once the cedar is removed the birch tree to the right, which has been forced to grow at an awkward angle because of the spreading cedar, will be a potential target of wind storms and being next to the house should come down to protect the roof, the enclosed porch, and cars parked below. The sixty plus foot cedar was dropped between the house and the street sign right where the crew wanted it.
"Dan of Apex Tree Experts came over to evaluate a tree removal, but the evaluation and estimate gave us so much more information that just about tree removal. Dan told us about our individual trees, what they were and their condition. He also shared information on the birds he saw pecking at the bark (a sap sucker) and inhabiting our yard (scrub jays). It was quite an education. He showed us the mold that was growing inside a fruit tree and revealed that it would fall within the next year or so, while the Mountain Ash nearby had a dead limb, but otherwise was in good condition. We're having three trees removed and their stumps ground up. We look forward to our new yard with the knowledge of the trees we'll still have and of the birds who share our little corner of the world."

Here is a video showing the fruit tree coming down and being stuffed into the chipper. The chips were later given to a neighbor:
"Dan--just wanted to thank you for a job very well done. Johnny and his crew finished a little while ago. Outstanding job and excellent clean-up. Very happy and wanted you to know. I gave a 5 star rating on Yelp."

"These guys came and removed a huge old pine tree that was leaning over the house. They did fast, careful work and left the area very tidy when they were through. They brought the tree down with no damage to any of the surrounding structures, and they even avoided damage to the grape arbor that was under the tree. They will meet or beat estimates from any licensed, bonded and insured company. They do tree removal, pruning, storm cleanup, even animal rescue :)"

"AMAZING! John spent the better part of today in the 85 year-old oak tree in our front yard and I have to say, we now have the most beautiful tree in Tacoma. Our street of older homes is known for its fabulous trees, but ours now stands out as the most beautiful among them all. Two neighbors came over to find out who was doing such amazing work when John was still working and we have had more complimentary calls from our neighbors this evening. My congratulations to Apex for a job artfully done. I give you the highest recommendation!
PS - The clean-up was as perfect as the job."
